With the help of cable lugs, cables or stranded wires can be connected in a very uncomplicated way - usually by screwing or plugging. Additional wire end ferrules, which are required when fastening cables with the help of clamps, are not necessary when connecting with cable lugs.
In practice, a distinction is made between specific types of cable lug, for example ring cable lugs, tubular or claw cable lugs. Models can also be categorized in terms of assembly. Crimping cable lugs and tubular cable lugs are formed, for example, with the aid of a crimping tool or crimping pliers. The goal: a force and form closure with the adjacent conductor. Cable lugs that are formed as a ring make a clamping contact to the conductive components possible.
